Community Engagement on Emerging Preferred Option for the Dodder Greenway

Closed 14 Oct 2018

Opened 24 Sep 2018

Overview

The Dodder Greenway Project aims to provide a high quality walking and cycling route along the route of the river Dodder from its source in the Dublin mountains to its mouth at the River Liffey at Grand Canal Dock. The river passes though three administrative areas, South Dublin County Council, Dunlaoghaire-Rathdown County Council and Dublin City Council.

Dublin City Council in cooperation with Dún Laoghaire City Council has now developed an emerging preferred route for the Dodder Greenway through their respective administrative areas. Drawings and information on the emerging preferred will be on display in the venues listed below for a period of three weeks from Monday the 24th of September to Sunday the 14th of October.

Dublin City Council is now requesting feedback on the emerging preferred option for the Dodder Greenway from all interested stakeholders to better inform the decision on the option  to advance to the preliminary design.

All comments are welcome and will be reviewed by the project team at the conclusion of the consultation period. In addition we’d appreciate answers to the following questions:

  1. Are you broadly supportive of developing a greenway along the River Dodder?
  2. Are you likely to use the greenway primarily as a pedestrian or cyclist?
  3. Are you mostly likely to us the greenway for commuting or leisure purposes?
  4. Would you consider that you’d make more journeys on foot or bicycle if the greenway was constructed?
  5. Are there any particular facilities that you’d like to see included as part of on the Dodder Greenway Project?
  6. Would you have any particular concerns with developing the Dodder Greenway?
