The Sandyford Clonskeagh to Charlemont Street Pedestrian and Cyclist Improvement Scheme (SC2C) is part of the Dublin City Council (DCC) core active travel network, and is funded by the National Transport Authority (NTA).  It will provide high-quality walking and cycling facilities along with significant urban realm improvements for the extents of the route from Clonskeagh Road to Charlemont Street, a distance of 3km, extending from the River Dodder along Sandford Road, Ranelagh, Ranelagh Road and Charlemont Street to the Junction of Harcourt Road.  It is a primary route in the Greater Dublin Area Cycle Network Plan.

Why your views matter

The DCC Active Travel Programme Office are carrying out this non-statutory public consultation from 30th January to 28th February 2023. The purpose of the consultation is to inform the public of the key features of the scheme and to gather any comments or observations.

All submissions received during the consultation will be reviewed and considered and may result in revisions to the proposed designs.

If you have particular suggestions or comments on the proposals we would welcome your views. Submissions may be made by one of the following methods:

  • Filling out the short survey below
  • By emailing ActiveTravelOffice@dublincity.ie (with SC2C in the subject bar)
  • By post to Dublin City Council, Active Travel Programme Office, Block 1, Floor 6, Civic Offices, Wood Quay, Dublin 8, D08 RF3F

During the consultation period the design drawings are available to view in hard copy format at the public counter in the Civic Offices, Wood Quay, Dublin 8 and in Rathmines Library, 157 Rathmines Road, Lower, Dublin 6. Opening Hours: Mon.-Thurs.  1000hrs to 1900hrs and Fri.-Sat. 1000hrs to 1600hrs

    Members of the community are invited to drop in to view the project proposals and meet the design team. All are welcome.
