Efficiency of Space Photo - Volunteer Sign Up

Closed 8 Sep 2022

Opened 11 Aug 2022

Overview

As part of our European Mobility Week activities, Dublin City Council is creating an Efficiency of Space image, and we need 80 volunteers to help us do it!

The idea of the Efficiency of Space photo is to clearly show how much more space cars take up on the road compared with sustainable modes of transport such as walking, cycling and public transport. We plan to use this footage to encourage people to use active and sustainable transport modes.

Efficiency of Space image

Details:

The footage will be taken on Parliament Street, Dublin 2 on Sunday 11th September from 7-11am.

80 volunteers will be involved in the creation of this photo – 20 pedestrians, 20 cyclists, 20 public transport users and 20 car drivers.

We're very grateful to all participants for joining us for this early start. Complementary tea, coffee and pastries will be available on the morning. A copy of the photo will also be shared with all participants to say thank you.

Covid Compliance:

This activity will comply with any government guidelines on Covid 19 in place at the time.

To take part:

If you're interested in taking part, please compete the volunteer sign up form below.

We are relying on all volunteers who sign up to turn up on the day. Please only sign up if you are definitely available to take part in this activity.

How this photo will be used:

The photo and video created will be used on various online and offline platforms to promote sustainable transport. We plan to use this photo on Dublin City Council's website and social media channels, including Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, printed materials as well as any other sites or platforms that share the image. While participants will not be individually indentifiable in this photo, we are asking all participants to consent to its use on these channels.
