Overview

Dublin City Council presents the Draft Dublin City Strategic Heritage Plan 2023 – 2028 for public consultation. The draft plan is the outcome of extensive consultation with three expert working groups for archaeology, architectural heritage and cultural heritage which were convened to advice the Council on the plan in 2021. The plan is also informed by a series of socially-distant outdoor public engagement workshops held in The Coombe, Ballyfermot, Raheny/Clontarf, Coolock and Kilmainham during National Heritage Week and a Your City Your Voice Survey, organised in the same year.

The plan is informed by Heritage Ireland 2030 and the Heritage Council’s Strategic Plan. It sets out the Council’s values in relation to heritage and identifies 6 strategic goals with defined objectives for each goal. In the appendix there is a list of potential projects to be implemented during the lifetime of the plan, which were each identified during the consultation process.

The plan is presented here in English and in Irish and is accompanied by a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and Appropriate Assessment (AA) reports
