Overview

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Sections 85 and 86 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 as amended that Dublin City Council has reviewed the existing Scheme of Special Planning Control for O'Connell Street and Environs, which was approved in 2016. A number of changes to the original scheme are recommended and these have been incorporated into a Draft
Scheme of Special Planning Control for O’Connell Street and Environs 2022. The physical area covered by the Draft Scheme is identical to the O’Connell Street Architectural Conservation Area.

The exact boundaries of the Area of Special Planning Control are shown in the Draft Scheme of Special Planning Control for O’Connell Street and Environs 2022 and on the map accompanying the public display.

Copies of the Draft Scheme, together with the respective Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and Appropriate Assessment (AA) screening reports and Strategic Flood Risk Assessment (SFRA) are available for inspection for a period from Monday 30th May 2022 to Monday 25th July 2022 both dates inclusive (excluding public holidays) at the following locations;

Ground Floor, Block 4, Wood Quay, Dublin 8
Monday – Friday 9.00am to 4.30pm.

Central Area Office,
51-53 Sean McDermott Street Lower, Dublin 1
Monday – Thursday 2.00pm – 5.00pm and
Friday 9.00am – 3.00pm.

Central Library,
Ilac Centre, Dublin 1
Monday – Thursday 10.00am – 8.00pm,
Friday 10.00am – 5.00pm and Saturday 10.00am – 5.00pm.

Submissions or observations in relation to the Scheme should be made in writing to:

The Planning process is an open and public one. In that context, all submissions/observations are a matter of public record, and may be placed on the City Council’s website.
