Proposed Redevelopment of Dorset Street and St Mary's Place Flats, Dublin 1.

Closed 14 Jul 2021

Opened 30 Jun 2021

Overview

Dublin City Council proposes to redevelop the Dorset Street and St Mary’s Place Flat Complex, Dublin 1.

The design team is led by Scott Tallon Walker & Levitt Bernstein Architects and they have developed a masterplan for the complete site.

It is proposed to deliver the project over two phases.

The new development will replace the existing housing estate with the construction of 163 quality homes. The homes will be a mix of houses, duplexes and apartments and they will consist of one bed, two bed and three bed accommodation.  As well as delivering modern homes, the new housing development will also provide for the existing community facilities and create new outdoor spaces.

The first phase of construction will involve the building of two residential blocks while the second phase will be the completion of the plans and involve the construction of the third residential block.

New spaces for the existing St Saviours boxing club, karate club and childcare community facility will be provided for within the new development.

There will also be big improvements to outdoor spaces with new leafy tree lined streets, a new landscaped neighbourhood square with outdoor play areas and communal landscaped courtyards included as part of the proposals.
