Overview

Dublin City Council has prepared a Draft Local Area Plan (LAP) for the Park West - Cherry Orchard  area, and is inviting submissions from the public.

The LAP will guide how the area will develop over time, the types of development that will be encouraged and where these should be located.  It identities c. 46 ha of land available for development, capable of delivering over 2,000 new homes.  The plan includes objectives relating to housing, density, public open space, car parking, infrastructure, heritage, community facilities and design standards.  Dublin City Council and An Bord Pleanála will take the plan into account when assessing future planning applications in the area.

Dates -

Tuesday 18th June from 9.30 - 12.00 at the Orchard Centre, Cherry Orchard.

Tuesday 18th June, from 1.00pm-2.30pm at Unit 11, The Plaza, Park West.

Tuesday 25th June, from 4.00pm-6.00pm at the Ballyfermot Civic Centre, Ballyfermot Road.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Why your views matter

Dublin City Council is undertaking public consultation on the Draft Plan from Tuesday 11th June 2019 to Monday 22nd July inclusive. This consultation will ensure that local opinion is heard and taken into account before the Plan is adopted.

If making your submission by post, please state your name, address, and where relevant, the organisation represented.

Members of Dublin City Council staff will be available locally to discuss and explain the process for preparing a local area plan and to assist with any queries in relation to the Draft Plan - see below (Events) for details of dates.

In order to comply with Section S20(3)(ia) of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended), we will be required to publish your submissions/observations online.  Phone numbers, email addresses, and postal addresses will be redacted from these published submissions/observations, but names will be displayed.                 

 

 

 

What happens next

Update:

The City Council members voted on the 7th October 2019 to adopt the Draft Park West – Cherry Orchard LAP, with minor amendments. The final Plan will come into effect and be available to view from the 4th November 2019, accompanied by the final Environmental Report.
