Closes 17 Aug 2021

Opened 5 Jul 2021

Overview

In accordance with Section 73 (1) of the Roads Act 1993 Dublin City Council hereby gives notice that it is considering the proposal to Extinguish the Public Right of Way over a laneway at 14-42 The Rise, 2-12A and 33 Hampstead Park, Glasnevin, Dublin 9.

A request to have the public right of way extinguished was submitted to Dublin City Council’s North Central Area Office by a majority of residents who have properties abutting this laneway. The reason why they are requesting the closure of the laneway is to prevent the ongoing issue of anti-social behaviour & burglaries and to improve the safety and security of their homes. The proposed method of closure is by means of gates with coded padlocks.

The extent of the proposed extinguishment can be viewed on the attached drawing RM37615.

Note: Only the shaded area on the drawing is propsoed for extinguishment. The red lines indicate the proposed location for the gates.

Gate 1- Vehicular Gate will be located at the rear of 14 The Rise and to the side of 2 Hampstead Park.

Gate 2- Pedestrian Gate will be located beside 33 Hampstead Park & 12A Hampstead Park

Gate 3- Pedestrian Gate will be located at the rear of 42 The Rise
